Functional, Modern Transformations in Magill
These clients purchased this house and wanted to move into something that was their own. They knew bathrooms and kitchens are the focal point of any home so thought there was no better time than now to transform the areas into something that was functional, had their names all over it and was ready for the whole family to enjoy!
The original areas were somewhat functional and appealing, yet with further investigation the fixtures, fittings, joinery and sanitaryware were poorly crafted and poorly installed. The orientation of the ensuite was unusual and not functional.
The must haves for these clients were a new kitchen with the essential butler’s pantry, Herringbone splashback (to match the bathrooms), standalone oven and shaker profile doors.
For the bathrooms, a large bath was essential for the family, and a continued theme of Herringbone feature walls, Shaker profile vanities and gorgeous arch mirrors.
A whole new kitchen was installed for improved functionality, including a huge island bench with plenty of storage and room to sit around plus a central oven with all the bells and whistles. Utilising every bit of space was a must, and the butler’s pantry now allows the clients to slide open the doors when using the space and slide them closed once complete. The sensor down light in the butler’s pantry makes this space even more user friendly.
The orientation of the bathroom stayed relatively the same as the original but with the added glam of the freestanding bath, vanity, arch mirror, and herringbone tiles it is hard to walk past this room and not walk in.
The ensuite received a little more change with both the toilet and vanity moving to new locations, which allowed the herringbone feature wall, vanity and arch mirror to be the focal point as you walk into the room.
The subtle yet consistent features in each renovated room, now really brings this home together.
