Overdue laundry upgrade in Kurralta Park

The Client's Story

The clients recognised the need to revamp their laundry, elevating it to the standard it truly deserved. Their goal was to transform the space into a room that everyone in the house would not only pass through but also enjoy spending time in.

The original layout of the laundry fell short in several aspects—it was dimly lit, lacked functionality, did not adhere to building codes, and suffered from inadequate storage, resulting in a cluttered and messy environment. The laundry room was in dire need of a significant upgrade.

This project presented numerous challenges due to an existing room that had been constructed without adhering to building codes or standards. We had to address issues with electrical wiring, plumbing, as well as modify or completely strip down the timber and brickwork. These extensive modifications were necessary to bring the laundry up to code and create the desired outcome that we ultimately delivered. It required significant effort and expertise to rectify the deficiencies and ensure that the project met the necessary standards and regulations.

The laundry underwent a thorough renovation, involving the complete stripping of the space to uncover any underlying issues. Following this, it was rebuilt with meticulous attention to detail and to a remarkably high standard, while maintaining a similar footprint.

The doorways and windows were left in their original positions, although extensive work was undertaken to straighten and refurbish them, rejuvenating their appearance. One notable change was the raising of the toilet ceiling, which provided the high-line toilet with a chance to shine in the area. Ample storage solutions were installed, incorporating bulkheads that followed the raked ceiling and featured a sleek shadow line, enhancing both functionality and look. The selection of fixtures and fittings, along with the carefully chosen colour palette and cabinetry, were truly unparalleled.

There was no compromise in ensuring that every aspect of the space looked exceptional from every angle. The Tassie Oak benches, Tessellated tiles, and shaker profile doors contributed to creating a laundry that is truly enviable. The attention to detail and quality of these elements make it a laundry room that stands out and leaves a lasting impression.
