Our clients were eager to transform this home into a space that truly reflected their values and lifestyle and envisioned a space that exuded a calming atmosphere throughout.
Nestled in the leafy green suburbs on the outskirts of Adelaide’s CBD, this home boasted pre-existing architectural features including a stunning facade and high ceilings. Underwhelming interior finishes and basic bathroom facilities of the original 2012 build however fell short of the home’s true potential. With abundant potential, a full internal renovation project was undertaken and executed with craft and precision.
The kitchen was completely redesigned, featuring a spacious island bench and floor to ceiling joinery to emphasize the soaring ceilings throughout, giving the kitchen a prominent place in the home. As the new focal point, it was essential for the kitchen to set the standard and evoke the dreamy, calming atmosphere from the moment you enter the home. This was achieved through a carefully curated selection of tones and materiality, further enhanced with joinery details such as fin detailing and shadow lines.
The master retreat was reimagined to deliver a tranquil sense of serenity and enhanced functionality. Dividing walls were removed and rebuilt to transform the space allowing for walk in wardrobe with ample storage and walk-around ensuite. An inspired palette delivers a peaceful ambience. A key design element was the large zero-clearance cavity slider, helping to maintain privacy when required but maintain an inviting atmosphere when not in use. Every detail was meticulously planned – from the two-tone wall finishes to ensuring the perfect alignment of datum lines between tiles, joinery, windows, niches, paint lines and door frames. A stunning effort and final result.
In the main bath and powder rooms, we created spaces that are both inviting and effortlessly calming. Walls were removed and rebuilt to allow for the installation of niches and zero-clearance cavity sliders, providing the flexibility to refine and maximise the floorplan. In removing windows, we were able to eliminate timber jambs and architraves, replacing them with seamless gyprock and tile reveals – further enhancing the sense of continuity and flow throughout the space.
Spaces within 14 Marion live and work in perfect harmony, seamlessly fulfilling the design brief. The materiality and tonality of this project and the precision with which every detail aligns highlight the meticulous attention given to this renovation.
