A timeless character home, reimagined for modern family living.
Originally built in 1944, this character-filled residence is transformed into a refined family home that balances heritage charm with contemporary functionality.
Intentionally designed for a growing young family, the transformation focused on creating warm, connected spaces while providing opportunities for privacy and retreat.
The home’s original features, including generous room proportions, soaring ceilings, intricate cornices, and Jarrah timber flooring – provided a strong foundation for the full internal redesign.
A key architectural feature was the introduction of a third symmetrical hallway, extending the home’s central axis and establishing a seamless connection between the front entry, living spaces, and rear landscaped gardens. Framed by a heritage-style glazed door, this new visual corridor enhances natural light, improves functionality, and strengthens the relationship between indoors and out.
Despite significant structural challenges presented by the original build – including deteriorated masonry, concealed concrete lintels, and complex brick-on-edge construction – this Trilogy Project successfully retained much of the original fabric of the home, while introducing modern functionality.
Extensive structural modifications were undertaken to reconfigure the layout, allowing for a new bathroom, powder room, and improved access. Careful attention was given to preserving the original character, while cohesively integrating contemporary elements.
The result is a beautifully resolved home transformation where heritage architecture and contemporary living coexist effortlessly. Defined by symmetry, craftsmanship, and thoughtful detailing, 7 Verco delivers a timeless environment designed to be enjoyed for generations.
